Sigourney Weaver will return as Kiri Sully, Jake and Neytiri’s adopted Na’vi daughter. Weaver also played the role of Kiri’s mother, Dr. Augustine, in the first film. 20th Century Studios Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic Director James Cameron also confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he filmed scenes with child actors Trinity Jo-Li Bliss and Jack Champion for Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 during the production of Avatar: The Way of Water. He explained that he didn’t want to deal with growth spurts in between movies, joking that it was a “Stranger Things effect.”
