Celebrities, friends and fans quickly sent the Grammy-winner’s name trending on Twitter, mourning the artist and celebrating his work and life. Weird Al Yankovic shared a photo of the two rappers hugging, captioning it with a simple “RIP Coolio”—which many fans took note of due to their past conflict. Snoop Dogg posted a photo of the two of them together as well, captioning it “Gangstas paradise. R. I. P. 🙏🏽🌹 🕊 ♿️🚾. @coolio” Ice Cube was, of course, saddened by the news. “I witness first hand this man’s grind to the top of the industry. Rest In Peace @Coolio,” he wrote. Tina Malone, who got into a screaming match with the rapper on Big Brother, wrote that she was glad they had the chance to make up after the fact.
