Duchess Kate glowed in a Fair Isle sweater and jeans for the special episode of CBeebies Bedtime Story as part of Children’s Mental Health Week in the UK. She began by saying, “Hello, my name is Catherine and tonight we’re in my bedtime story den. I’ve chosen a story which I remember reading as a little girl.” The children’s book in question was The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Darkby Jill Tomlinson and illustrated by Paul Howard. After her reading, Kate said, “Wow, what an encouraging tale. We can all feel scared sometimes, just like our little owl friend, Plop. “But, as Mrs. Barn Owl said, it’s better to find out about the things that scare us before we make up our mind. “And with the help of others, we can often face things that worry us. Now it’s time for bed. Night, night, and sleep tight.” The Duchess of Cambridge was following in the footsteps of her sister-in-lawDuchess Meghan, who read aloud from the children’s book she wrote herself for Brightly Storytime on YouTube. The setting for Meghan’s reading was her lush garden at the Sussexes’ home in Montecito, California. During Meghan and Prince Harry’s trip to New York in September, the Duchess of Sussex was also pictured reading to Harlem students from The Bench while her husband sat cross-legged on the ground alongside the avid listeners.
