In a video uploaded to TikTok earlier this week, TikTok user @chickendelicious strolled past the storefront of the mayor of Flavortown’s Beantown restaurant–Guy’s Kitchen and Bar–and noticed something a bit odd about it. “sumone [sic] NEEDS to check if renowned celebrity chef guy fieri is ok…his restaurant in Boston PHYSICALLY could not be playing Lana Del Rey and louder off their outdoor speakers,” they wrote over the short clip, which showed off a light breeze fluttering through the awnings as a biker and several cars drove by. Lana Del Rey’s “Dealer” echoed loudly alongside ambient noise. Still, while the sound is convincing, the video is tagged with an audio file, making it unclear if the restaurant was blasting the track at the top of its speakers or if it was added to a normal shot of the Tremont St. location by the creator. “Guy fieri, Lana delrey, AND boston share a fanbase soooo,” the TikToker wrote in the caption, and, as one commenter said, “This makes so much sense if you think about it.” Plenty of viewers found the alleged display “relatable,” and even brands jumped into the conversation about Fieri’s state of well-being. Discovery+ sympathized, writing, “Been there, @Flavortown 🥲” Meanwhile, Target wanted to know, “WHO HURT YOU GUY.” Whether it was just an instance of harmless internet trolling or there really was something emotional going on at the restaurant that day, Fieri himself entered the comments to address it. “Let me live,” he wrote in response, leaving us to wonder if he’s defending his employees’ choice of musical expression or playing along with the gag. Either way, it’s clear he has a sense of humor about the situation. More Pop Culture:
