According to legal documents reviewed by The U.S. Sun, West’s former business partner, Thomas St. John, has been trying to serve the disgraced Adidas partner with a lawsuit for $4.5 million in unpaid fees for an 18-month contract with West and his company, Yeezy, but St. John hasn’t been able to locate him in order to do so. According to the publication, St. John can’t uncover an address to deliver the suit to—with three attempted mailings yielding no results—nor does West have a lawyer to accept the paperwork instead. As such, he’s requested an extension to get the papers served ahead of the currently scheduled case management conference for April 2023. Distractify reports that St. John claimed West was missing in order to receive the extension, and rumors of the rapper’s status arose with a viral tweet yesterday, Dec. 28, seemingly based on the same court docs. Still, many other tweets report that West was spotted at church on Tuesday, Dec. 27. His Twitter account remains suspended and his Instagram has been wiped clean of all but one photo, posted three months ago, but it was just this week that Kim Kardashian gave an interview about the difficulties of co-parenting, with no indication that the man had gone missing. Instead, it seems as though West just happens to be an expert at avoidance, dodging the suit so as not to pay St. John what he is allegedly owed.
