2017: Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker start hanging out together
It seems like these two met organically: The now-couple actually live in the same gated community in Calabasas, California, per E!. Travis has also been on KUWTK a few times, usually with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. Barker’s daughter Alabama Barker told Entertainment Tonight in 2017 that she had dinner with the whole Kardashian family. “They were really sweet,” she said. “I told her she had a power dinner…I told Alabama that was a really cool dinner to be a part of," Barker said.
2018: Dating rumors start
The two were spotted by paparazzi grabbing dinner at a vegan restaurant and even going to an evening church service together, per Us Weekly. While plenty of fans wondered what was going on, it seemed like nothing came of it.
February 2019: Dating rumors crop up again
Paparazzi photos obtained by E! show Kardashian and Barker leaving the upscale sushi restaurant Nobu Malibu together. Again, nothing much happened after that. “They had dinner at Nobu with the kids because they are friendly. It was a family dinner. They’ve been friends for years,” a source told E!. “They’ve hung out together many times and often get together with the kids to see movies or to get ice cream. They always have fun together. He’s a nice guy and their kids really get along well. Kourtney has his kids over playdates and vice versa.” And, the source said, “they have a really nice friendship.”
January 2021: Travis Barker starts leaving comments on Kourtney Kardashian’s Instagram posts
Fans started to wonder if something was actually happening between the two after Barker started regularly commenting on Kardashian’s Instagram posts. He dropped a rose emoji in the comments of a selfie from Kardashian’s closet and then a mermaid in the comments of a photo of her walking into the ocean. He also wrote, “You’re So Cool,” after Kardashian shared screenshots of the movie, True Romance, on her page.
January 2021: Sources say Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are dating
A source revealed to PEOPLEthat the friends had turned into a couple, noting that the two spent a weekend together at Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs home. “They’ve been dating for about a month or two,” the source said. “They’ve been friends for a long time but it’s turned romantic.” After Barker and Kardashian were spotted being “flirty” and holding hands during dinner at Matsuhisa in Los Angeles, a source told PEOPLE that things are “easy” between them. “They spend most of their time together with the kids, but they have tried to sneak away for dates without the kids, too,” the source said. “It’s an easy relationship since they have known each other for so long. Kourtney knows what Travis likes and they have a lot in common.” A source also told PEOPLE that Barker, “has been crushing on Kourtney for a long time.”
February 14, 2021: Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker make things Instagram official
Kardashian kept things short and sweet, dropping an Instagram post that showed herself and Barker holding hands. “This,” she wrote in the caption. He responded with a black heart emoji. Kardashian’s good friend Khadijah Haqq McCray commented on the post, “When friends become lovers.” Despite making things official, these two have mostly kept their romance out of the public eye. So, sorry KUWTK fans: It doesn’t look like Kardashian and Disick reunited after all.
March 2021: Will Travis Barker be on Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 20?
It’s unclear. Again, Barker has been on the show in the past, so it wouldn’t be a total shock for him to pop up again. But it also seems like he and Kardashian started dating around the time filming wrapped up, making it unlikely that they’d want to broadcast their new relationship to millions of viewers. Kardashian has also made it very clear that she’s not into the show, telling Vogue Arabiathat filming is “toxic.” So, while it’s entirely possible Barker could show up on the final season of the show, it doesn’t seem highly likely.
