After posting a number of Instagram photos from Kathy Hilton’s annual Christmas party, the American Idol judge’s followers seemed to be less interested in the fancy holiday bash and more concerned with how different Abdul looked in the photos. In the festive snaps, the “Straight Up” singer was seen posing with the hostess, as well as many other partygoers, including Heidi Klum, Jaclyn Smith, Paris Hilton and Crystal Kung Minkoff. But her fans couldn’t help but notice that Abdul had seemingly edited the photos a little too much, making her look decades younger than she actually is. “This looks like a completely different person,” one commenter said of the 60-year-old, while someone else wondered, “Did the account get hacked? Who am I even looking at?” “Wow. I don’t understand this. Everyone knows what you actually look like. The amount of editing here is embarrassingly obvious,” someone else wrote under the post. Some Instagram users even accused Abdul of setting a bad example to women everywhere by using face editing apps, something celebrities are often called out for by fans on social media. “You’re making young girls and women feel that they need filters that they can’t be proud of themselves the way they are and that’s very very sad,” one follower wrote. Others tried to encourage Abdul to embrace her age, while assuring her that she’s still stunning without the filters. “Paula, you’re beautiful. There’s no need to edit your photos to the point that people don’t recognize you,” one comment read. Another follower put things more plainly, simply writing, “Stop with the FaceTune, you are aging, deal with it!” “Aging is beautiful. You’ve edited yourself down to being 12-years-old. It’s alarming,” another commenter added. Despite the avalanche of disapproving fan comments, Abdul’s celebrity pals didn’t seem to care about the apparent editing in the post. “You look so beautiful Merry Christmas ❤️❤️,” Bravo star Dorinda Medley wrote under the Instagram post, while actress Cara Cunningham added, “You look so incredible ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️❤️ we all love you.”
