The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh was transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital on Monday where the procedure was carried out yesterday. The palace said, “His Royal Highness will remain in the hospital for treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days.” After being admitted to hospital on February 16, Philip was visited by his son Prince Charles, with his grandson Prince Williamsaying several days later that the duke was doing “okay.” Up until his admittance, Philip had been isolating with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle during the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple each received their first dose of vaccinations in January.
