The 32-year-old Emmy winner transformed back into the iconic Miriam “Midge” Maisel to shoot a handful of scenes for the upcoming fifth and final season. New photos taken on Thursday afternoon (August 18) in New York City show Brosnahan’s Midge donning a blue suede dress over a bright pink turtleneck. The vibrant look is pulled together with knee-high burnt red suede boots—a color scheme that oddly works for this period-drama. Midge also seems to be rocking a new hairdo for the first time ever that incorporates elements of her signature wavy pageboy hairstyle. Filming on the upcoming season of the Amy Sherman-Palladino-created series began back in February. While little is known about the plot, Brosnahan teased that the season is “going to be a hell of a final chapter.” From the looks of it, Midge’s romantic life will take center stage, and the romantic scenes don’t seem to bode well for fans shipping Midge and Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby). Earlier this year, Brosnahan was spotted kissing co-star, Reid Scott, while filming an ice skating scene in Rockefeller Center. Scott’s character, Gordon Ford, the handsome host of a fictitious talk show, debuted in Season 4. Brosnahan was also seen filming a scene alongside This Is Us actor Milo Ventimiglia, who is set to return for the last installment of the series. In the photos, Brosnahan dons a more playful crimson red two-piece, while Ventimiglia looks business ready in a gray peacoat with a briefcase. It’s not clear how Ventimiglia will be reintroduced as his last encounter with Midge didn’t end well. His character—known only as the handsome man she met at Central Park—first appeared in Season 4, Episode 7. After weeks of conversation and flirting, Midge decided to take their relationship to the next level only to have his wife walk in on them. She never heard from him again, but it seems like all that’s about to change when they seemingly bump into each other on the streets of NYC.
