It’s safe to say the Survivor 41 contestants had all this in mind when they looked at the three tribes that will start the season. After the year that has been prior to playing, there’s a lot at stake. And those stakes will be raised from the get-go, as the 18 players are divided into tribes of six, on the smaller end from the eight, nine, or ten from previous seasons. “Tribes are very small throughout the season,” Survivor host and executive producer Jeff Probst explains to Parade, “which makes Tribal Council even scarier because there is nowhere to hide.” It’s a conscious effort from production to amp up the “danger” theme of the season, which includes having no daily food staple and Reward Challenges being scarce.
