What happened in The Challenge season 36?
Last season, titled Double Agents, had 30 contestants competing in co-ed pairs, with the ability to swap partners throughout the season. In the end, CT Tamburello took home his fourth win alongside rookie Amber Borzotra, who was also the first winner from Big Brother. Second place went to Cory Wharton and Kam Williams. Third place went to Leroy Garrett (who announced his retirement from the show after 12 seasons) and Nany Gonzalez. Eliminated in the middle of the finale and finishing in fourth place was Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat and Kaycee Clark.
What’s the format of The Challenge season 37?
It’s impossible to say what the format will be of this season of The Challenge until it’s announced on the show. The show likes to change the format up each and every season to keep the players and audience on their toes. But devoted spoiler accounts for the show have divulged how Spies, Lies and Allies will allegedly work. For the second season in a row, the contestants will play in pairs. To start, American women will pair up with international men, and international women will pair up with American men. The pairs will compete in a daily challenge, where the winners are deemed “The Agency.” The rest of the house votes any team except The Agency into elimination. The Agency then votes any other man and woman from the house to face off with them. Whichever man and woman win then get their pick of new partners, with the losing two going home. It should be noted, though, that this is The Challenge, and anything can happen. Previous seasons have started out with one format, only to go to more of an individual game by the end. It seems like the days of one non-gendered winner are over, but don’t be surprised if the show drops the partner concept eventually.
What’s the prize money for The Challenge season 37?
Like the format, the amount of money up for grabs on The Challenge depends on the season. In season 36, the winning pair each received $450,000, while the second-place pair received $50,000 each. The season before, the top man and woman each got $500,000. Depending on the format of the season, the winning contestant or contestants could get any share of the $1 million pool.
Will the red/gold skulls return for The Challenge season 37?
Season 35 brought in a new concept: Skulls. Having a skull gives you a chance to compete in the final, and you can’t get to the end without one. To win a skull, you must participate in and win an elimination, which incentivizes people to volunteer themselves. While the skull twist was brought back for season 36, spoiler accounts say the skull twist will be missing from this season.
