The latest answer comes from an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June 2022. Bergeron was plugging the Pet Gala, an inaugural fundraising gala to support Wagmor Pets. Naturally, ET used the opportunity to ask him if he would ever consider returning to DWTS, especially considering the Emmy-winning show has now moved networks and will air on Disney+ for at least the next two seasons. Bergeron poignantly looked down at the dog he was holding—named Willie Nelson—and simply saying, “So anyway, Willie…” before laughing. Of course, this isn’t a surprise, given what Bergeron has said about the show in the years since his firing. For example, in April 2022, an article was published entitled “Could Tom Bergeron return for Dancing with the Stars on Disney+?” The piece posed the question in response to the show changing networks, as well as the departure of producer Andrew Llinares, who was reportedly behind decisions like firing Bergeron and Erin Andrews and hiring Tyra Banks as host. Bergeron tweeted the article and wrote, “Recommended Reading: Selected Novels of Thomas Wolfe,” a clear reference that it should be considered a work of fiction. Though he clearly has some resentment toward being let go, it seems like Bergeron is truly moved on from DWTS. “The show that I left was not the show that I loved,” he admitted on an episode of “Bob Saget’s Here for You” podcast. “The end of the season that turned out to be my last season. I kind of knew.” So unfortunately for fans of the series, it looks like the host with the most has gone on to greener pastures. Next, Everything We Know So Far About Dancing with the Stars Season 31
